I am very excited to be given the opportunity to work with the Sumner Danbury Elementary students, parents, teachers, and staff as your Assistant Principal.  I come to Claremont USD with 15 years of experience in public education.  I started my career as a School Psychologist working with and functioning as a Case Carrier for mild/moderate through moderate/severe special education students from the preschool through the Adult Transition level; as well as being a support for general education students, parents, and staff. I was then promoted to Administrator and tasked with creating and operating a moderate/severe Adult Transition & Medically Fragile Program for four years. I have enjoyed working with students at every level of academic and physical ability.

My bachelor’s degree was earned from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.  I have received two masters’ degree in Education; the first in School Psychology and the second in Educational Leadership.  Additionally, I hold educational credentials in Pupil Personnel Services and Administration.

I was drawn to Claremont USD because of its well-founded reputation of excellence and having a strong community feeling.  I have visited Sumner and Danbury Elementary multiple times over the past decade and have always found the collaboration of the administration and staff to be exceptional.

My wife Marlene and I are proud parents of our son Jake and daughter Riley.  My wife works part-time at Mt. Sac and volunteers at our children’s elementary school.  My children are athletic and very good students.  My family is very excited for me to begin this next chapter in my career.

My goal is to assist Sumner Danbury Elementary in creating exceptional life long learners in order for our students to be leaders of tomorrow.  I know that with the support of the amazing Sumner Danbury Elementary staff and our students’ parents, this will be a school year to remember.
